Srinivas Modukuri started his career with Lehman Brothers in New York in 1998. Over the next 10 years, he built a reputation as one of the leading research analysts on Wall Street. He left the firm in 2007 to be a co-founder of One William Street Capital (OWS), an alternative asset manager. As the Chief Investment Officer, Srinivas helped establish OWS as a premier hedge fund in the credit markets with close to $3.5 billion in assets under management. He parted ways amicably with the firm in 2014 to spend more time with family, play more golf and to learn interesting things. At Advaita he was responsible for identifying investment opportunities in Indonesia and Australia. He was specifically involved in investing in two coal mines – one a two billion ton coal mine in Indonesia and the other a potentially 30 billion ton coal mine in Northern Australia. Earlier, Jagannath was the CFO of Naturol Bioenergy Ltd, India’s first fully integrated biodiesel plant that successfully shipped biodiesel to Europe. He was instrumental in raising $35 million from Private Equity players (including Ventureast) and banks.
Jagannath brings with him extensive experience in project finance and corporate banking gained through his 11 year stint with ICICI Bank as the zonal head of corporate banking business for the southern region. This gave him an opportunity to work with leading companies in the region for structuring financial solutions to their requirements.
Jagannath holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, in Lucknow, India. Prior to his foray into venture capital, he was a Business Development Manager at Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited. At Emcure amongst many other deals with MNCs, he managed the landmark co-marketing and contract manufacturing deal with a prominent Biotechnology MNC in the oncology space. He was also a part of the M&A due diligence team, which was involved in the acquisition of some firms and a global oncology brand.
Prior to Emcure, Ashish was a project manager at USV Ltd.’s R&D Programme Management, where he spearheaded the collaborative development of NCEs in the diabetology space with a US based partner and the firm’s first foray into sterile injectables for the US market.

In 1973, Sridhar Raju’s family of four immigrated to Chicago, IL from Vizag, India. It was there, at the early age of 13 that, that he began his first business. Although it was only a small lawn maintenance business, it soon grew large enough that he grasped the basics of costing, expense control, HR (labour scheduling, employee motivation and retention). When he was a teen, Sridhar Raju worked his way up from warehouses to a retail brokerage firm and developed a sense of responsibility and a hardworking mentality that he still possesses today.
Eager to succeed, he often took on more responsibilities than his roles entailed, and was nominated for a management program at the age of 17, but chose to go to college instead. After graduating high school, he worked for a large insurance company and earned his BBA Finance before moving to work for a super-regional Savings and Loan Bank, where he was responsible for hedging the interest rate exposure of the bank as well as the regional risk of the bank’s loan portfolio. This entailed learning the details of F&O operations, as well as buying loan pools to offset the banks regional risk, at the age of only 21. His burgeoning experience in the business and finance world encouraged him to pursue an MBA in Risk Management.
In 1994, Sridhar returned to India to be a part of a family business in Pharmaceuticals. He was involved in the company’s Marketing, API, Formulations and Biologicals, and was a part of the team that helped the company double its sales. Tangentially, he started his own small scale cement grinding business and a 50-50 joint venture company with a Japanese firm. Through these ventures, he gained valuable insights and experience regarding supply chain management, and the legal issues ventures can run into.

Sunil has completed his BE in Industrial engineering from Manipal Institute of technology, Mangalore university. He was in Construction and Agro Products Export business for about 6 years.
