Pitch Deck Presentation

Pitch Decks are an essential fundraising tool, whether you’re planning to raise 5,00,000 50,00,000 or 5 Crore. It is a brief presentation that gives an overview of your business to the investors. It essentially focuses on your product/service, your business model, your monetization strategy, and the introduction of your team.

In short, compelling and well-comprised pitch decks talk straight to the investors. The number of slides does not matter as long as the presentation does not get vague and over-complicated. Despite the crispness of the presentation, which might be 15 slides or less, a presentation that pleases and wins the hearts of investors is not easy to create.
But do not worry, you are here to learn how to ace it.

In this pitch deck template, we address the vital topics that a presentation needs, which makes it Comprehensive, easy to use, and straightforward. However, we understand every company is different and might have its own add-ons.

Now, let's look into the vital slides every VC pitch deck presentation needs:

  • The Title Slide:
The investors are self-aware of who they are and the purpose of the meeting. So you can skip the part of VC’s company logo and the Pitch Deck title. The title slide can only include your company name and a small tagline that describes your product/ service or company. Don’t make taglines confusing or fancy, keeping it simple is the key.
  • Purpose of the Company:
Once the investors briefly know about your company you can now focus on the purpose your company serves in the world. To show your company’s purpose, you can showcase the value your company provides to customers, the evolution in the certain sector that your company is bringing into the market or the vital change your product/service is providing to the world.
  • The Problem:
After laying the foundation of your company’s purpose you can now step ahead into explaining the problem you are solving. While you dive deeper into explaining, don’t forget to include how important solving this problem is and the scope of it. It might be hard for you to include the logistics of the problem but it is definitely beneficial. Your quantified logistics can help investors understand the depth of the problem and how the solution helps people save their time and money. This slide is important as this is where investors gain major of their interest
  • The Solution:
As you guessed, the Problem slide is followed up by your solution to that problem. It is important for your audience to understand what part of your company is helping solve the problem, is it the product, your approach, or the core evolution of that sector. In this slide, you would like to give the most compelling and straightforward answer, so that the investors can see the uniqueness and value of your solution.
  • Your Journey Map:
If your company has been in the market for long enough then the investors would be interested in seeing your metrics. It is important to show investors your success through metrics like growth, volume, revenue, and transaction. This will help investors build a sense of trust.
  • Why Now?:
This slide might help investors pique their interest in vesting as answering ‘Why now?’ efficiently gives a sense of credibility to the scope of the product/ service. The ‘why now’ can mainly be answered in three categories
a.) Was the problem too costly to be solved before?
b.) The right resources didn’t exist to solve the problem before?
c.) The problem wasn’t huge or apparent as it is now.
These category answers can create an impression for the investors that they are investing ahead of the curve.
  • Market Size:
Market size is just a number but it plays a significant role in showing the investors the opportunity that is ahead of you. Make sure you help the investors understand the size of the market as well as its dynamics and how are these factors advantageous for you.
  • The Competition:
You can divide your competitors into distinctive categories and list them one after another, or use a common comparative set. This comparative set helps you showcase how you stand out from your competitors.
  • Business Model:
This slide is similar to the journey map(metrics), here is where you talk about your revenue model. If you have spent long enough time in the market then show your revenue model to investors and don’t forget to explain how you arrived at it. Whereas if your company is relatively new in the market then explain your speculation and hypothesis of how you plan on monetizing your company and make revenue out of it.
  • Team Introduction:
The introduction of the team might seem like an easy slide but be careful, do not include all your employees in the slide. Add the team members mane who actually hold leadership value in your company and might interest the investors.
  • Financial Projection:
We all are aware of how important your financial projections are. The vital part is to paint a realistic picture that is supported by metrics of your company and how they would evolve over time.
It’s okay if this slide is a bit more informative but do not bombard the investors with rows of data. Your projection can start with a time span of a month then 6 months and then quarterly or annual projection.
  • The Last Impression:
It’s very common to see the presentation end with key takeaways or reasons to invest and there is nothing wrong with it.
But you would like to make a long-lasting impression on your audience. So it’s good to end the presentation with a closing question or statement that gets your audience to brainstorm with you.

Your company is one of a kind and so should be your pitch deck. With that being said we hope this blog helps you through your journey of making a refined and compelling presentation.
