Vijay began his professional career with GE Capital, where his work focused on fixed income markets – portfolio performance attribution for a USD 70 Bn bond portfolio & securitization structuring for multiple originator asset classes (RMBS, franchise finance, aircraft and equipment receivables). He subsequently transitioned into the equity capital markets – first with BNP Paribas and then Nomura – where he was leading the banks and financial institution’s research group.
As a visiting faculty, he has taught courses in the areas of ‘Financial Derivatives’, ‘Investments’ & ‘Corporate Finance’ at the Indian Institute of Management over the last 15 years. Vijay is a Fellow from IIM-A and has also earned the CFA and CQF charters. In 2011, Vijay was recognized by the Wall Street Journal (ranked # 3 in a field of 154 analysts across Asia- Pacific) for his investment recommendations in the Indian financial institutions sector.
He is currently a visiting fellow associated with the Center for Capital Markets and Risk Management, IIM- Bangalore.
